How can I be sure most of my contribution goes directly for service? Why are there a number of federations in the campaign? The needs of the community are many and diverse. One federation simply cannot address the concerns of everyone. The Community Giving Campaign offers you the flexibility to choose how you want to spend your charitable dollars. I can't afford to give: The reality may be, "Can you afford not to give?" The many challenges our community faces are being addressed by the federations in the Campaign. However, without adequate funding the non-profits they support cannot continue their important services. Payroll deduction makes it easier to spread your contribution out over a long time. I want my pledge/donation to go to an agency that I like: The Campaign offers you many choices. Some of the federations let you designate your gift to support the non-profits you prefer. Your Campaign coordinator can explain those to you. How can I be sure most of my contribution goes directly for service? All participating federation/foundation, with the exception of the Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation, are Registered Combined Charitable Organizations by the State of Minnesota. This means that these federations/foundations must have operating costs under 30 percent. All participating federations/foundations are well within this limit.
